Buying paper in Seoul's Bangsan Shijang

On a few square miles you find all businesses related to paper, printing, packaging and stationary.. definitely our favourite place in Seoul.

We have spotted a seller of used paper bags of cattle feed. We bought 75 kilos of bags, which we will use for a future screen printing project. The bags costed us 35 euros.
In a neighbouring street we found someone who cut the bags to the desired size and pack into 3 cartons for 6 euros.

A delivery man brought our 3 parcels to the post office for 3 euros and it costed us 120 euros to ship the 3 boxes by boat to Ireland, which will take 2 months.

Franticham in a Keith Smith book.. in Seoul

It was a big surprise to find our picture in the Whanki Museum in Seoul. Korean book artist Narae Kim exhibited there her vast collection of artists' books. Among them this book made by american artist and friend Keith Smith. We were honored also to see many books from Redfoxpress which Narae Kim has acquired on a regular basis since 2000.

franticham's new home in seoul

Away from the noisy streets and the sky scrapers from seoul we found a new home in the most ancient part of the city with narrow streets. From the roof we can see the nearby emperor palace. It is a custom here to hang a dried fish with white threads for wishing good luck.

our exhibition in Seoul

Antic-Ham and Francis, together with the 6 other members of Seoul based artists' group SUJAK
had an exhibition in Gana Art Space in busy Insadong. The concept of the exhibition was to create an atmosphere like in your ownn living or reading room... this explains the truck loaded with tables, chairs and carperts and shelves leaving Ham's appartment.
The exhibition was very well visited.. even too much on week end where at any moment constantly over 30 people in the gallery.
Visit from Karen and Kevin from USA presently living in Seoul... and with Opa, Egg and Hoho-girl from Sujak.
