Visiting an exhibition of artists' books by Robert Brandy at the Centre National de Littérature. A big number of these books were printed and published by Francis between 1982 and 2009.


A visit to Brandy's studio .. Looking at an old coffer from the thirties which once belonged to my grand father and is now a part of Brandy's work on Bolitho Blane.

Marché de la Poésie - Paris

from 18 to 21 june we were exhibiting our books on Place St Sulpice at the 28th edition of the famous poetry book fair. In the days Francis was publishing poetry in Luxembourg he used to attend to this fair from 1987 till 2001. This was a wonderfull occasion to see again old friends. Though the fair is mostly about poetry, the interest in our artists' books was great... we will go back next year!

Bernd Reichert from Brussels sent us a wonderful contribution to our mail art project "post-it / mail it" .. a small note book 8.5 x 12.5 cm with 46 pages of amazing collages.

We made new signs for our shop which we have during the summer months in our living room.
Signs are silkscreen printed on old wood from the ceiling of our kitchen.

2009 Seoul International Book Art Fair

Our "1969" silk screen printed book about the sixties got a prize at the international competition at the Seoul Book Fair.

franticham's new home in seoul

Away from the noisy streets and the sky scrapers from seoul we found a new home in the most ancient part of the city with narrow streets. From the roof we can see the nearby emperor palace. It is a custom here to hang a dried fish with white threads for wishing good luck.

Heinrich Böll Memorial Weekend in Achill

Nobel Prize winner novelist Heinrich Böll
spent many summers between 1955 and 1983
writing in his cottage
in Dugort (where we live) on Achill Island.

Since 1992 his cottage has been used as residency for
writers and artsists from all over the world.

Last week end, for the 5th time took place the
Heinrich Böll Memorial week end
with readings, exhibitions, workshops,
film projections and guided walks.
