Assemblings exhibition in London

3 assembling editions from the 80's and early 90's from Guillermo Deisler (GDR), Ulrich Tarlatt (GDR) and Rea Nikonova (Russia).
Over 70 from our assemblings collection will be shown in London at the Pigeon Wing Gallery in September.

franticham in Urawa Museum in Tokyo

We visited Urawa Museum which has a nice collection of artists' books.
The section of Fluxus, Visual poetry and mail art is particularly impressive..
After an important meeting with curators to whom we showed our books we looked at the exhibition of art made with cray-pas (crayon + oil pastel).. 
We had a good time doing ...

work on new screen printed limited edition

We started printing a new fine press limited edition. I will contain 8 screen prints by René Böll with texts from Hölderlin printed on BFK Rives in an edition of 50 copies.
René Böll has strong ties with Achill Island because the Böll family spent many summers in the 50's till the 70's in their cottage in our village.
Every Mai there is a Heinrich Böll week end with events and readings around his work. This book will be ready for this event.

"Franticham's Fluxus Island Assembling Box" is the name of this new ongoing project.
Contributions from C. Mehrl Bennett, Miguel Jimenez and Luc Fierens.
Nr 1 is due at the end of the month and will contain 23 prints, multiples and objects from invited artists in an signed edition of 40 copies.

A new book with our fish collection ... 80 pages of fish objects bought since 2006 in Europe, USA, Korea and Japan ... antiques and curiosities ... in all shapes and forms.

New York, New York

The first of a series of about 30 silk screen prints by Franticham about New York to be published in spring 2010 in a book 23x35 cm in an edition of 69 copies. The cover of the book will be made of alluminium offset plates.
Prints are from pictures they took during their recent New York trip in October 2009.
Thes prints are from the Brooklyn bridge, view from inside MoMA, Patti Smith collage in MoMA, Obey sticker and Mike Tyson stencil.

The Small Publishers' Fair in the Conway Hall, London

Ray Johnson original drawing

We were lucky to find in the bookshop "Specific Object" in Chelsea Ray Johnson's book "The Paper Snake" published in 1965 by The Something Else Press, New York.
To our surprise the book had an original drawing of a ladder in ballpen by Ray Johnson.
An "adder" is a kind of viper snake.

London Art Book Fair

Very successfull book fair this last week end (sept 25-27). The Whitechapel Art Book Fair is a new version of the London Artists' Book Fair which took place before in the ICA.
Antic-Ham could not attend unfortunately. We have been awarded the Birgit Skiold Price for our book "Tokyo Umbrella". This price consists of a little cheque and the acquisition of the book for The V&A Museum.

Reid Wood, american visual poet, sent us his picture showing proudly his book published by Redfoxpress in the bookshop of ICA in London.
We are very happy also to see our collection so well presented.
