new acquisitions

Who would think that in County Mayo you might find interesting hand printed books.
Yesterday we bought at Gibbons Bookshop in Westport 2 little books with woodcuts produced in the sixties by Paul Peter Piech.
Paul Peter Piech was born in 1920 in Brooklyn and moved to London where he founded Taurus Press in 1959. He was also teaching graphic design and printing.
Piech died in 1996.
Gibbons Bookshop has been taken over recently by an american, John Hurst, who is collector of fine press books aswel. It's a pleasure to have someone around here understanding and promoting artist's books and fine press editions.
Our own collection can be seen on http://www.redfoxpress.com/collection-books.html

Today we received 35 pictures from Richard Tipping from Australia. to be published as a book "Subvert I sing" in our collection of visual poetry "C'est mon dada".
We met Richard in October at the Small Publishers' Fair. We loved his work and thought it would fit perfectly in our series of books.
Richard is poet, artist and publisher, and teaches design at the University of Newcastle in Australia.

walk in our garden

산책 나왔다.
부드럽고 조용한 바닷가
마을 어느 집
개가 다녀간 흔적 뿐.
겨울,
많은 것들이 제 몸을 숨기는 시간.
비워져 간다.

Our foot prints are the only ones.
